Joanne McCartney AM relays concerns about GTR poor performance

I have received a number of complaints regarding the reliability of the Northern Line and, as a regular user myself, I share the frustrations an unreliable train service produces. To get to the bottom of this issue, I wrote a letter to Govia Thameslink Railway about the cancellations and delays on the Great Northern Line. In my letter, I expressed mine and others’ concerns about the apparent deterioration of the service in recent times and asked what was being done to remedy this problem.

Boris overruling the Fire Authority and axing 13 London fire engines is “irresponsible and dangerous”

Labour London Assembly Member Joanne McCartney has hit out at the Mayor of London after he said he would overrule the London Fire Authority after they voted not to scrap thirteen London fire engines. The decision not to cut the fire engines was taken on Wednesday (17th) by members of the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA) after a public consultation found 82% of respondents were opposed to the Mayor’s plan to axe thirteen London fire engines.

Ticket offices at Great Northern stations facing axe

Proposals to close ticket offices at Alexandra Palace, Enfield Chase and Palmers Green, Hornsey and Winchmore Hill stations have been announced. A public consultation will be held on the proposals which would see station staff moved from ticket offices to the station forecourt.  However, there are concerns that the proposals could ultimately result in cuts to station staff and less help available to vulnerable and disabled passengers.
