Following the announcement today that Transport for London and the London Enterprise Panel will fund the shortfall in the West Anglia Route, I am delighted to hear that the shortfall for funding along the West Anglia Route has been provided by TfL and the London Enterprise Panel. For too long local residents have put up with a poor service and I, along with the local councils and MPs have been raising these issues and demanding improvements.
The funding will bring four trains an hour by 2017, improving services for local residents at Northumberland Park station in Tottenham and Angel Road station in Edmonton. I am pleased to see that our lobbying has been successful.
