Local London Assembly Member Joanne McCartney and local Councillor Charles Adje called in TfL today to visit the junction of The Roundway and Great Cambridge Road.
Following concerns being raised by a number of residents about the speed of traffic at this busy junction in Haringey, Joanne McCartney AM on Thursday met with a senior Transport for London officer, together with local Councillor Charles Adje and local residents, for a walkabout at the junction on Thursday morning.
Joanne said “A large volume of traffic passes through this junction every day, often at speed and road traffic accidents have occurred here. Today TfL, Cllr Charles Adje and myself have visited the junction where pedestrians are crossing and heard from local residents who are very keen to see TfL address the issue of speeding vehicles at this junction.”
Joanne continued “We have already improved safety at this junction by successfully persuading Tfl to put pedestrian crossings here two years ago. However the issue of speeding vehicles needs to be looked at further. I am pleased TfL met with us today and they have agreed to study the accident history at the junction and to investigate the suitability of further safety measures such as more signage.”
