Joanne McCartney, London Assembly member for Enfield and Haringey, today welcomed the decision of the Olympic Park Legacy Company Executives to make West Ham United the preferred bidders for the Olympic Stadium.
Local London Assembly member, Joanne McCartney said: “My residents have been worried for months that their local team would be moving to East London. I am happy that this is now unlikely to happen and I look forward to Spurs beginning work on the Northumberland Development project in the near future.”
This recommendation by the executives is due to be ratified next week by the OPLC Board, two Government Departments and the Mayor of London.
Local London Assembly member, Joanne McCartney said: “I hope that the Mayor will agree with me that Spurs home is in Tottenham and will make the right decision next week. I also call on him to ensure that he gives his full support to the Northumberland Development Project which will regenerate a large part of my constituency.”
